Missionary Athletes International (MAI) uses the world’s most popular sport, soccer, to create teams that influence people for Christ through a unique combination of soccer excellence, authentic community, ministry engagement and spiritual growth.

We believe that soccer teams are an effective means to influence people for Christ and see God transform lives because:

Soccer is the world’s most popular sport
90% of people make decisions to follow Christ before the age of 18
A coach is one of the most influential figures in a young person’s life.

We operate teams through our Divisions located in four major metropolitan areas of the United States: Charlotte, NC; Chicago, IL, Triad, NC and Los Angeles, CA .

We also send ministry teams internationally and conduct conferences to provide our training to ministry-minded coaches all over the world.

Missionary Athletes International  (MAI) has a passion to share the message of Jesus Christ with people around the world through the sport of soccer.

The vision for using soccer to reach a lost world led to the inception of MIA by Tim Conrad in La Habra, California in 1983.

Glorify God and see lives transformed by sharing the message of Jesus Christ through the global environment of soccer.

Our vision is to generate teams of influential coaches and players who inspire people to flourish in and for Christ wherever they are planted.

Our training objective is MAI’s Sports Ministry Training (SMT) will equip and disciple players and coaches by teaching, modeling, and facilitating opportunities to apply our core training curriculum.

We love to share our stories…
